Sunday Celebration

Sunday 7th June 2020

Jubilee Church Teesside | Sun, 7th Jun 2020

Good Morning!

You can join in our Sunday Celebration from here, on Facebook Live from 10:30am or from our YouTube Channel.

Thanks so much for joining us.

Today's Talk

Watch today's talk from Raj.

Time to Pray

We would love to give you an opportunity to respond to what was shared this morning. If you are watching this with your children, encourage them to get involved with the prayer response too.

  • Ask Jesus to help you to trust in who He is and what He has done for us, more and more in your life.
  • Ask Him to help you walk by 'faith and not by sight' 2 Cor 5:7.
  • Pray that others you know would come to know Jesus and put their faith/trust in Him.
  • Pray that churches across Teesside would be those that truly live out the faith-filled calling that God has put in each one of them.

For Children

Story

Watch this video based on Hebrews 11 and 12.

Memory Verse

Hebrews 11:1

'Faith means being sure of the things we hope for and knowing that something is real even if we do not see it.'

Activity

  • Ask a parent/carer to make an obstacle course.
  • Have the children close their eyes (not blindfolded)
  • Ask parent to give instructions to steer them through the obstacle course without opening their eyes.
  • The object is to have faith that their parent will guide them through obstacle course.
  • It is the children’s choice to keep their eyes closed. How much faith do they have in their parents?

Questions

  • How did you feel about obeying instructions with their eyes closed?
  • Did you keep your eyes closed?
  • When you switch on a light you have faith that light will come. When you stand on the ground you have faith that it won’t give way.
  • How can you have this kind of trust in God?
  • We saw in the video God’s heroes of faith. Who are your heroes of faith and why?

Read Hebrews 12:2-3. Choose a version that is child friendly like the one below from the CEV.

“Keep your eyes on Jesus, who leads us and makes our faith complete. He endured being killed on a cross because he knew that he would be glad he did. And now he is seated at God’s right hand! Keep your mind on Jesus, who suffered so many things – then you won’t give up.”

What things did Jesus go through – how did he suffer? What made Jesus want to go through this suffering? Jesus had hope that one day he would have a huge church of people loving and worshipping and following him – and this hope made him want to go through his suffering.

Want to know more about want it means to become a Christian?

Becoming a Christian is about following Jesus and starting a friendship with him. Watch this short video below which explains more.

We also love Alpha here at Jubilee! For more about our upcoming Alpha course starting on Monday 8th June click here. If you want to watch the first session of Alpha click here.

You can also contact us if you'd like to talk with someone about becoming a Christian or just want to know more!

Want to Give?

We know that a number of you give on a Sunday morning through the collection. There's still an opportunity to give through our giving page. Alternatively you can find all the details there to make a gift through your bank.

More than ever, this is a time to encourage, support and pray for each other. Please do contact those people you know or that might need extra help. If you want to contact one of the leadership team, use the contact us page and one of us will be in touch.
