Thanks so much for joining us. This week our time of worship is in the same video as the welcome and follows on after Soroush.
Watch today's talk from Gavin on Patience.
We would love to give you an opportunity to respond to what Gavin shared this morning. If you are watching this with your children, why not encourage them to get involved with the prayer response too.
Becoming a Christian is about following Jesus and starting a friendship with him. Watch this short video below which explains more. You can also read the 'Why Jesus' booklet which explains how you can become a Christian.
You can also contact us if you'd like to talk with someone about becoming a Christian or just want to know more!
The build up of pressure in the balloon is a bit like a build up of anger in our lives. How to we practice self control and patience?
Note: This needs adult supervision - make sure vinegar does not get squirted at others, and young children do not eat ingredients!
Method: Pour vinegar into 250ml water bottle about half full. Add 2 teaspoons of Bicarbonate of soda into balloon using a funnel (you can make one with a paper cone). Stretch the balloon over the mouth of the bottle, being careful not to let the bicarbonate fall into the bottle. Lift the balloon completely upright so that the bicarbonate pours into the vinegar.
Reflection:
The bicarbonate of soda and vinegar react with each other and make carbon dioxide gas which blows up the balloon. What makes you 'blow up'? Why? It is easy to get angry or annoyed and we need self control to stop our anger growing to the point where we say something we later wish we hadn't. How can grow in self control and patience?
Describe the two people being contrasted in this proverb. What are they like? Why is it better to be a "patient man" than a "warrior"? Who is stronger?
Talk to God about when you are likely to be like a warrior, without patience. Ask God to give you a patient spirit.
We know that a number of you give on a Sunday morning through the collection. There's still an opportunity to give through our giving page. Alternatively you can find all the details there to make a gift through your bank.
More than ever, this is a time to encourage, support and pray for each other. Please do contact those people you know or that might need extra help. If you want to contact one of the leadership team, use the contact us page and one of us will be in touch.
If you're new to Jubilee, we're super-excited you could join us today. Feel free to contact us if you'd like more information and do join us again next week!
