Sunday Celebration

5th April 2020

Jubilee Church Teesside | Sun, 5th Apr 2020

Good Morning!

Thanks so much for joining us. Please watch this short welcome from Gavin, Hayley and Eden.

Worship Together

Here are some songs for you to worship with today.

Today's Talk

Watch today's talk from Simon on Joy.

Want to know more about want it means to become a Christian?

Becoming a Christian is about following Jesus and starting a friendship with him. Watch this short video below which explains more. You can also read the 'Why Jesus' booklet which explains how you can become a Christian.

You can also contact us if you'd like to talk with someone about becoming a Christian or just want to know more!

Time to Pray

We would love to give you an opportunity to respond to what Simon shared this morning. If you are watching this with your children, why not encourage them to get involved with the prayer response too.

  • Write on a piece of paper all the things Jesus has done for us e.g. rescued us, made us friends with God. Take time to thank him and enjoy them!
  • What things can rob us of joy? Are there things right now that are doing that? Confess them to God, ask for his Spirit to fill you afresh with joy.
  • Pray for our church at this time, people within our community and also others that we know.
  • Spend some time praying for some of the projects we're involved in such as Open Door North East, The Hope Foundation, Foodbank, Safe Families for Children. Pray that they're able to help people in this time.

For Children

Make a poster by writing out 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (New Century Version) - 'Always be joyful. Pray continually, and give thanks whatever happens. That is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus.' Colour or paint it and put it up somewhere in your house where you will see it regularly.

How can we be joyful always (at all times)?

We may not always feel "happy" about a situation, or a decision, but we can always choose to have a joyful spirit and attitude. When we complain, we are often self-centred. When we seek joy, we are choosing to draw on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Memory Verse : 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Sweetie Experiment - Try this simple experiment with Skittles, Smarties or M&Ms. If you don't have these at home, you could buy some later in the week or simply make a colourful picture as an expression of the joy we have in Jesus!

Want to Give?

We know that a number of you give on a Sunday morning through the collection. There's still an opportunity to give through our giving page. Alternatively you can find all the details there to make a gift through your bank.

Stay in touch

More than ever, this is a time to encourage, support and pray for each other. Please do contact those people you know or that might need extra help. If you want to contact one of the leadership team, use the contact us page and one of us will be in touch.

If you're new to Jubilee, we're super-excited you could join us today. Feel free to contact us if you'd like more information and do join us again next week!
