Refugee Sunday

Beyond the Welcome

Sun, 26th Jun 2022 | 10:00:00-12:30:00
Yarm Road Methodist Church

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me." - Jesus in Matthew 25:35-36.

Refugee Week is a UK-wide festival celebrating the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees and people seeking sanctuary. Founded in 1998 and held every year around World Refugee Day on the 20 June, Refugee Week is also a growing global movement. This year Refugee Week will be happening 20-26th June.  You can hear more about Refugee Week nationally by clicking here.

Jubilee has a long history of working with refugees and our church community has certainly been blessed and enriched by people from other nations over the years. Join us as we hear about and pray for over 65 million refugees and internally displaced people around the world. We'll also hear about the work of Open Door North East, our charity working with refugees and asylum seekers on Teesside.

Tea, coffee and doughnuts will be served from 10am with our main meeting starting at 10:30am. Parking is available in the Queen Victoria pub opposite the church building.
