1 month of Lynnley!
An update from our intern

I can’t believe I’ve been in the UK for a whole month! Before coming here, I was worried about finding my place and making friends, but the Lord has been so faithful in providing such an amazing community for me here.
I want to take a moment to say how incredibly grateful I am to this church for welcoming me and making me feel so at home. Thank you for having me over for lunches and dinners, and for taking the time to get to know me. You truly don’t understand how much of a blessing that has been to me.
This month has been filled with Youth for Christ training and getting to know the team, as well as settling into working at Jubilee. On top of that, I’ve had more tea in one month than I’ve ever had in my life! People aren’t kidding when they say you all drink a lot of tea 🙂
Here is a brief breakdown of what I’ve been a part of this month:
Here is a brief breakdown of what I’ve been a part of this month:
I hadn’t heard of Alpha until I arrived here, and I’ve been loving getting to be involved each week. Volunteering at the Community Café on Wednesdays has been such a rewarding experience. I love seeing Vicky and Kenny’s heart for the people of Teesside. Helping out there has reminded me of the verse in Psalm 34:18:
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted; he saves those crushed in spirit.”
God is here for all people. He is desperate to save us all and wants us to know Him, no matter where we come from!
During the week, I’ve also been volunteering at Jubilee Tots, which is very different from the Community Café but just as rewarding. It has been so amazing to see people in the church giving up their time to serve, and it’s been a great way to get to know everyone.
On Sundays, I get to help out with children and youth work, and I’ll be a part of leading it in the coming months!
This has been a busy month filled with the Lord’s faithfulness and provision, and I can’t wait to see what the next eleven months will bring. I’m looking at starting a children’s club during the week for our church kids, as well as children in the surrounding area, and I’m excited to get that going soon. Lots of fun things are coming up in the church, and I’m so excited to be a part of it all.
A couple of prayer requests I have would be;
- For volunteers to help with the children’s club,
- For continued peace as I settle in
- That I would continue to make time for the Lord even in busy seasons.

Thank you again for being so welcoming and inviting, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions or thoughts!
