Baby & Toddler Playgroup

Sparklers is our playgroup based at Newport Settlement Community Hub in Middlesbrough, open to all parents/carers and their children up to  4 years old (pre-school age).  It is run by our fantastic Sparklers team every Wednesday during school term-time between 9:30am - 11:30am.

Sparklers was primarily set up to serve those living around the Newport and Gresham areas of Middlesbrough, however, we have people from all over Teesside attending.

Toys are provided for all ages from birth to 4 years old and the team are available for playing with the children, chatting with parents/carers, and generally offering friendship to those who come along.

We start with free play, allowing the children to explore the different toys meet other and children. A craft is then offered to those old enough and wishing to join in.  Most children who are old enough look forward to making or colouring in something!

There is always a snack time, with a range of foods provided for the children to eat, and also a drink of juice or water.  Adults can have a hot drink while the children sit around the tables enjoying their snacks.  We finish off the morning with a few songs for the children.

Our Sparklers team run other events through the year, such as a Christmas Fayre and an annual trip, often to a park or farm.

Come along and join in. We’d love to see you!
