In Jubilee we place a very high value on worship, we believe it is the main reason for our existence. The shorter Westminister catechism expresses it in the statement "The chief end of man is to glorify God and enjoy him forever".Woship is at the heart of everything we do in Jubilee and is our motivation for every area of our church life. Worship is all about our relationship with God and how we live in obedience to Him every day. When we come together in our meetings we express our desire to be worshippers in Spirit and in truth. We desire that the words we sing will be full of truth, packed with content which honours God's character and celebrates all He has won for us. We have been blessed with many great musicians at Jubilee and an increasing number of songwriters who are writing songs that reflect our vision and values. Whether it is joyful uninhibited praise or soft heartfelt devotion, our desire is to be theological and biblical but with a contemporary style to which everyone can relate. It is also our desire to include people from all walks of life, all ages and all cultural backgrounds to fully represent our community and to be a prophetic statement that one day in heaven there will be worship from all nations! It is our desire to be completely open to the Holy Spirit and receive all His gifts - so we are always open to receive contributions from individuals - prayers, words, tongues and interpretations and all the spiritual gifts. |
